Online Registration of Crops ‘E-Cropping’ Begins in Andhra Pradesh

In the state of Andhra Pradesh a comprehensive mapping of crops under Rythu Bharosa Kendra has been initiated. The main aim is to help the government for Crop planning to e-book marketing of the crop.
Officials of the Revenue and Agriculture Departments will jointly register crops online (e-Crop) in the State and the village agriculture assistants (VAAs) will enumerate the crops at village level. The staff will enrol the name of the farmer and enter online the details of his village, survey number, extent of land, bank information, phone number and the crop he or she is cultivating. If the cultivator is other than a pattadar (land owner), a Crop Cultivation Registration Certificate (CCRC) will be issued.
According to the data from the electronic crop registration, the seeds for the crop will be provided or delivered.
This data will also help the government in Initatives such as providing interest free loans, crop insurance, Rythu Bharosa, MSP etc.
