
The functioning of Calcutta HC and J&K HC came to a halt due to COVID-19 as these HCs have been closed temporarily.
As new phase of lockdown starts from tomorrow in Kolkata, the judicial and administrative functions of Calcutta HC has been suspended from 10th to 13th July, 2020. A notification has been issued by the Registrar General stating that the Chief Justice of Calcutta HC has directed to stop the functioning of HC and also to conduct a thorough sanitization process in three buildings of the High Court.
The Srinagar Wing of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court was closed yesterday as two CRPF personnel were tested positive for COVID-19 who were deployed there. The HC was shut for sanitization process for two days i.e., 8th and 9th July, 2020. Cases which are urgent and listed for 8th or 9th July will be now taken up on July 10. Other matters will recieve dates by the concerned Bench Secretary and will be notified through the website of HC on 11th July, 2020.
As per the present status, there are 2591 active cases in Jammu and Kashmir and 2814 active COVID-19 cases in Kolkata.
