Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Association moves Madras HC against COVID-19 work. The association asked the government not to involve teachers in work against their will. The health of the teachers have been asked to be considered, and it has been asked to provide them with protective gears.
According to the petitioner, the corporation has decided to involve teachers in COVID-19 work. They were to be deputed as telecounsellors in COVID-19 call centres.
The petitioner said, “Though the authorities are taking appreciable measures in the eve of the crisis, the fact remains that the teachers involved in the work are put at high risk of contracting the virus since health conditions of such teachers are not considered before deputing them to such tasks.”
