Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan launched the eBlood Services Mobile Application, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), to have an easy access to blood in this critical time of coronavirus. The ‘eBloodServices’ mobile application is developed by the ERaktkosh team of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).
In this pandemic situation the major challenge that has emerged for all the States and for Central Government of India is in ensuring safe blood for the citizens who require regular blood donation for blood or bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, etc.
The aim of this initiative is to help people procure blood through registering themselves on the application. The people who are in need of blood can get to know, as to from where the blood can be procured.
One can seek blood up to four units. The Indian Red Cross Society’s blood banks will wait up to 12 hours for them.
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has requested people to come forward to donate blood as their contribution is required more than ever now.
