Following SC directions, the Ministry of Health orders States and UTs to ensure timely release of salaries to doctors and healthcare workers.

A Three judge bench of justices Ashok Bhushan, Sanjay Kishan Kaul, and Mr. Shah passed the order while hearing the plea.
The union ministry of health and family welfare ( MHFW) has issued an order under the disaster management act, 2005 ( DMA) has passed an order, notifying all the states and union territories to hand over the salaries of doctors and other health workers on time.
The MHFW has also directed all chief secretaries of States and UTS to follow this direction and any violation in accordance with this will be counted as an offense under the DMA and IPC.
Strict actions will be taken against defaulting hospitals/Institutions/ authorities.
Further, the Supreme Court also directed the central that proper safety measures should be taken off of the health workers and demanded a separate residential facility.
