A 5 judge Bench has been constituted by the Supreme Court to review the Aadhar Judgement. The Bench constitutes of : Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice DY Chandrachud, JusticeAshok Bhushan and Justuce L Nageswara Rao.
Senior Advocate Shyam Divan has submitted Applications for review, the primary reason being that it was wrongfully certified as Money Bill by the Lok Sabha Speaker.
Senior Advocate Shyam Divan stated :
“It is submitted that the Aadhaar failed to meet the strict standard laid out in Article 110(1). For a legislation that has serious implications on the rights of citizens to be passed without consideration of the Rajya Sabha is nothing but a fraud on the Constitution as the Minority Judgement notes.”
Senior Advocate Shyam Divan also requested for na open court hearing.
The Review date has been set on 9th of June.
