
A division bench of Telengana HC questioned the State government as to how 37 doctors and staff tested positive for COVID-19. The government was questioned as to how the frontline workers were affected despite them using PPE Kits and protective gears.
The bench of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice B Vijaysen Reddy passed the order in response to the PILs filed by asking the State to provide adequate facilities to the doctors and nurses. It was alleged that adequate facilities weren’t provided to the workers. Advocate Chikkudu Prabhakar, appearing for Prof PL Vishweshwar Rao of Telangana Jana Samithi, told the court that the government had taken no action for the protection of doctors.
The government was questioned as to why the primary contacts of the infected haven’t been traced. The case will further be heard on June 8th.
