President Ram Nath Kovind decides to forego 30% of his salary for a year :-

In the light of covid-19 outbreak , India’s President Ram Nath Kovind has decided to forego his 30% of salary for a year .
Before this he had also contributed his one month’s salary in PM – CARES fund.

This was a small but an important step to make more resources available for the relief measures of covid-19. He also wants the nation to realise the government’s vision of making oneself self – reliant (atmanirbhar), stated by Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan has also laid down some measures for the reduction of expenditures :-

1.Only the ongoing works will be completed and no new works will be taken in FY21.
2.There should be a reduction in office consumable.
3.Minimisation of repair and maintenance work.
4.Reduction in Domestic tours and programs to follow the social distance.
5.Reduction in the ceremonial occasions .
6.Purchase of the Presidential Limousine , for occasional purpose will be Delayed.
