Rishi Kapoor was cremated at the Chandanwadi Crematorium on Thursday afternoon, amid the nationwide lockdown. He was admitted on Wednesday in Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital and breathed his last on Thursday. Rishi Kapoor’s mortal remains were brought to Marine Lines where his family members and few others had gathered to pay respect. These included Neetu Kapoor, his wife, sister Rima Jain, Kareena Kapoor Khan, his niece with her husband Saif Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt, Rohit Dhawan, Abhishek Bachchan and others.
The man known by his popular name ‘Chintoo Kapoor’ had acclaimed many awards and accolades and had been one of the finest actors of all times. His family reported that even at his last moments he entertained the hospital staff. Ranbir led the hearse while Alia his girlfriend could be seen accompanying him. On the other hand, Rishi’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor couldn’t attend the cremation amid this lockdown where all the flights and travel is restricted. After Irfan Khan’s demise, this is yet another jolt to the film industry and fans across India and elsewhere.
