Lockdown improves the water quality of Ganges


On March 22, 2020 lockdown was imposed and since then the quality of air and water has been improved according to the reports given by Central Pollution Control Board.
The CPCB says that out of 36 monitoring points of the Ganges, 27 are now clean and suitable for wildlife and fisheries propagation. Dissolved oxygen value has been reported to be improved from 6.8mg/litre as compared to 3.8mg/litre before lockdown.
