The actor was diagnosed with an endocrine tumour in 2018 and underwent treatment for the same at a Hospital in London. It attracted a lot of attention from his fans and viewers later, when he wrote down about the uncertainty of life and about the pain he was undergoing. Irrfan Khan died on Wednesday in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where he was being treated for the colon infection.

He is survived by his wife and two children. Khan was known for his outstanding performances and was critically acclaimed for his roles in movies. He is known for his movies Slumdog Millionaire and Life of Pi, among many others. He won India’s National Film Award for his leadingg role in Paan Singh Tomar in 2013. Khan has acted in several Bollywood movies and his latest movie, Angrezi Medium was released last month. He was also conferred the Padma Shri for his performances in films and theatre.
